Public Service Announcement: Last Chance for Registration Stickers for PA Drivers

December 27, 2016

Registration stickers for Pennsylvania drivers will soon be a thing of the past. As a result of Act 89 which was passed in November 2013, the sticker is being eliminated due to advances in technology and cost-savings measures which are estimated to save tax-payers $1 million annually. Police will be able to instantly check registration status by your vehicle’s license plate.

In an attempt to get the last ever Pennsylvania registration sticker which will be issued on December 30, 2016,  I just submitted my registration renewal.

Are you required to remove your old stickers? Fear not – you may keep your existing stickers. Have more questions about the new process? PennDOT answers frequently asked questions about the elimination of registration stickers here.
