Attention Central PA Entrepreneurs: Startup Pitch Competition Coming to Lancaster

Lancaster’s business and technology community continues to get noticed on the national stage. Earlier this month, it was announced that the Rise of the Rest 6.0 Tour will be coming to Lancaster on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Rise of the Rest is a pitch competition for entrepreneurs, sponsored by AOL co-founder Steve Case, that gives startups the opportunity to win a $100,000.00 investment.

Entrepreneurs who live within a 75 mile radius of Lancaster can apply via online application by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 to be considered for one of eight finalist spots. In order to apply, you must:

  • have a live product or service or be in active beta;
  • have measurable performance indicators such as revenue, customers or successful beta results,
  • currently be raising or have near-term plans to raise an early stage round; and
  • be headquartered in the region of the city where you are apply to pitch.

The goal of the competition is to increase investment and innovation in companies headquartered outside of Silicon Valley and other traditional elite technology hubs. Other cities in this year’s tour include Ann Arbor, Michigan, Indianapolis, Indiana, Columbus, Ohio and Green Bay, Wisconsin.
